What are all the different buttons for in the brown menu bar at the top of the page?
- Home?
The home button will take you back to all latest listings in your selected county.
- Counties Map?
Takes you back to the map page where you can choose another county to look for items.
- Create an Ad?
This is where you can place an advert once you are a member. To create an ad in a different county you must go to the counties map page and choose the desired county by clicking it on the map, once there click on the create an ad button in the menu bar or use the click here to recycle your item button next to the education recycle banner.
- Manage your Ads?
You can manage your ads for each individual county by clicking this button, to manage your ads in different counties you must log in to that county by going to the counties map and selecting the county of choice and then using the login link provided.
- Manage your Account?
This is where you can see your adverts and how many people have viewed them. You can also edit and delete the ad when the item is no longer available, Please keep your account up to date, thank you.
- Competitions?
As the title suggests, this where all the latest competitions are listed, There are members competitions as well as those open to everyone.
- Town Search?
Click on the town search button this will take you straight to a list (See below) then click on your town (e.g. Abbots Langley) to take you to the ads just listed in your area.
How to create an ad?
There are a couple of different ways in which you can create an ad, but by far the simplest is to click on the blue recycle button next to the banner. You can also use the, create an ad button in the menu bar at the top of each page. The next step is to create the ad using the submit listing page;
- Choose an Education category from the list
using the drop down menu; select from the list a category that best suits the item you wish to advertise.
- Town
using the drop down menu select the town in which the item is located.
- Contact Details
this should be the full name of the person giving or selling the item and the contact email address to which all advert replies should be sent.
- Title
a brief description of what is on offer, i.e.: Football, Stags School Uniform etc.
- Short Description
this is where you should put whether the item is offered for free or the price of the item you are selling. i.e.: Free or £5.00 etc.
- Description
Anything pertinent to the sale or giving free of charge of the item, i.e. condition, size, what is on offer in detail etc.
- Add images
Allows you to search your computer and upload an image of the item for sale or offered free of charge, an image is always helpful. Although the education recycle ad page will automatically resize the image to fit it is suggested that the lower the resolution the image the quicker it will load for people to see. Recommend image size is 600×400 pixels and saved in JPEG format.
- Submit listing button
Click here after checking that all areas of the form have been filled in correctly.
Your listing will go live in approximately 24 hours after being approved by the education recycle admin team.
I have forgotten my Password, how do i reset it?
If your login to Education is unsuccessful, you will be asked if you have forgotten your password, if so click on the link that says lost your password? and fill in your email address or username in the box provided. This will automatically send you your password direct to your email account with which you registered.

News feed keeps you up to date with what’s going on at education recycle in your chosen county i.e.: latest listings, news , updates to the blog etc. See the latest ads first with this handy utility.
What is Education Recycle?
We are a not for profit social enterprise for local communities to buy sell and give educational items to make education affordable for all.
Is Education Recycle free to sign up and place adverts?
Yes, we are 100% free no sign up fee no selling fees.
I am a Business who wants to give an educational item free how do i add my link on my advert?
When placing your advert, add your web address you want listed at the bottom of the main description.
Can i place adverts outside my county?
Yes, you can place adverts in all the counties listed on our counties map.
Can i sell any items on Education Recycle?
No you can only sell, give or ask for items that may aid some ones education maybe advertised on Education Recycle.
Can I ask for money for my items?
Yes you can ask for money, but please try and keep the price reasonable.
Can I charge p&p?
No, you cannot charge p & p on ads because there are no facilities to pay online. We do not want to charge our users fees and so feel it is better and more localised if people pick items up in person and once the person picks the item up, at that point money can change hands.
I am a Business and would like to donate a prize for one of the competitions, how can I do this?
If you are a Business and would like to donate a prize for one of our competitions, the first step is to e mail admin@educationrecycle.net and tell us a little about your company and the prize that you would like to donate. We will contact you as soon as possible and arrange for our web designer to contact you and explain the process of adding your business logo and he will allocate you with a slot, as we only like to put up a small amount of competitions at one time to give the companies that donate optimum advertising. We do not charge for companies to advertise on our competition page and encourage businesses to give back to their community.
I am a business and I would like to advertise on Education Recycle and support the work that you do, how can I do this and how much is it?
The first thing to do is to e mail us, and request our advertising package, we will e mail you our package which gives different types and lengths of advertising contracts. We offer very competitive advertising rates.
I am a school and would like to join in the schools Education Recycle, recycling initiative, how can I join?
We have a pack which we are happy to send out to any school who is interested in joining in the recycling initiative – The 3 way system – please send an email with your name and address and we will send you a pack which explains how your school can start earning money by partnering up with Education Recycle and recycling your no longer needed educational equipment.
I run a school, is there a way that our pupils can join in with Education Recycle and start recycling?
Yes, e mail admin@educationrecycle.net with your name and address and we will send you out a pack explaining how your pupils can start recycling and help earn your school money – for primary school children we have a pack which they can take home which includes an badge!
I would like to contribute by writing a blog, can I do this?
Yes, we encourage others to guest as a Blog writer – please e mail admin@educationrecycle.net explaining briefly what it is that you would like to write about and we will get back in contact with you. Blog needs to be about education! This can be teaching something, we love cleaning tips, recipes, views from children and teenagers, views from schools and teachers, views from parents and grandparents…become a writer and have a go!
